We wanted to compile the list of the best games of this year. The scorching summer heat continues to advance urgently but, this year, one of the quintessential transition periods brings with it several captivating productions. Among titles of great importance and other secondary ones, the period to come is an excellent opportunity for all gamers intent on ranging between various genres. Indies already consolidated in the international market, director’s cut of masterpieces already played and additional content of the most loved games… In short, there is a lot of meat in the fire and, below, we report some of the productions that most intrigued us.

The Falconeer

The interesting temporal exclusive first landed on the platforms of the Game Pass ecosystem, the open world of Wired Productions is preparing to arrive on Playstation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch. Involving in its game mechanics and in its flawless flight system, owners of Sony and Nintendo home consoles will be able to buy the aforementioned title starting from August 5 at the sum of 29.99 euros.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris

The expansion of the latest iteration of the famous Ubisoft production will arrive on August 12 on all Sony, Xbox and Personal Computer platforms. The Siege of Paris, the paid DLC following The Wrath of the Druids, is an extension of a basic adventure quantitatively rich in content. A great battle awaits gamers, with new areas to explore and territories to conquer. Hades

After the success of the roguelike developed by Supergiant Games, the title in question is preparing to land on the Sony and Xbox home platforms. Starting from August 13, in fact, players will be able to relive once again the great and fearsome adventures of Zagreus in the kingdom of the underworld. Inspired by Greek mythology, the amazing indie with dungeon crawler mechanics will be available for purchase digitally for 24.99 euros.

Godfall Fire and Darkness

Starting from August 10, the first action RPG dlc produced by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Software will arrive on Playstation 5 and Windows. However, as announced during E3 2021 by the same publisher, Godfall will land, on the same day, on the Playstation 4 title library. Players who purchase this latest version will have free access to the PS5 upgrade. Furthermore, according to the statements of Gearbox Software, between Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 players you will be the cross platform function. No More Heroes 3

After a long wait, the famous action hack and slash will be added to the Nintendo Switch title park. Starting from August 27, in fact, the third iteration of the homonymous historical saga will be available at a price of 59.99 euros. As Travis Touchdown, the player will find himself saving the world from a fearsome alien invasion, unleashing the Beam Katana and slicing through enemies. No More Heroes 3, on balance, is one of the most important productions of August and of the Nintendo catalog. Switch owners, waiting for more products from the likes of Wario Ware Get It Together andShin Megami Tensei 5 arriving in the coming months, will be able to enjoy a title of great playful and productive value.

Twelve minutes

Made by Luis Antonio and Annapure Interactive, the title in question is part of the ludic productions of single player graphic adventures. Twelve Minutes, out August 19 on Xbox gaming platforms and Windows systems, allows the player to play the role of a husband intent on spending a romantic evening with his wife. However, the appointment becomes a nightmare with the police raiding the protagonist’s home. With the wife accused of murder and the beating of her husband, a twelve-minute time loop will lead to reliving that traumatic experience indefinitely. The only way to escape from this temporal distortion is to prevent the normal flow of events, so that the loop can be interrupted. Everything is packaged into a videogame experience whose tracing of narratives from the caliber of The Shining and Memento constitute a product with intriguing premises.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut

A year after the publication of the first version of Ghost of Tsushima, of which you can find our review here, the work of Sucker Punch is updated with the director’s cut. This new edition, in addition to the adventures of the island of Tsushima besieged by the Mongols, includes the introduction of an expansion that will bring Jin Sakai to explore the island of Iki. A new story, new minigames and more await players, who will be able to access this and more digital content. Everything will be available, starting from 20 August, at the figure of 19.99 euros, to which an additional 9.99 euros must be addedfor upgrade to PS5 version.

Psychonauts 2

The spiritual heir of Psychonauts, a platform adventure released in 2005, is arriving on all gaming platforms (except Switch on August 25th. The young Razputin Aquato decides to join the famous spy organization called Psuchonauts. However, in the course of their misadventures, bizarre missions and mysterious plots will be the masters in a playful experience outside the videogame canons. Players will have in their hands an adventure full of fun and action, embellished with a narrative component with a strong cinematic mold. Furthermore, the management of the project by the director Tim Schafer confirms the quality of the production, whose famous high-sounding name is connected to great pearls of the videogame industry including the timeless Grim Fandango.

Baldo The Guardian Owls

The latest production that is part of the great titles coming out this month is Baldo The Guardian Owls. Produced and developed by Naps Team, an Italian development studio, the graphic style and the playful structure of the work are an excellent starting point for an indie with great potential. In detail, it refers to the presence of a mixture of genres that, ranging from action adventure to role-playing mechanics, are embellished by the presence of puzzle sections. As if that weren’t enough, everything is embellished with an aesthetic component reminiscent of the filmography of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
